I wasn't sure what to expect at the Yum Buffet, especially since it took over the previous location of the Hometown Buffet which I dearly loved. After some convincing from Joe K, who had already eaten here a number of times, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and agreed to take the chance.
The place was busy, but still large and expansive inside with plenty of seating for the masses. I was immediately impressed at all the different food selections! You have your most popular Chinese dishes, Mongolian Barbecue, Sushi, American, desserts, soups, salad & fruit. From vegetarian, to seafood, to meat, to chicken. There is something for almost every appetite preference, even some food items that picky kids might enjoy.
The prices are very reasonable for all the food you can eat! Wait service is quick and efficient at clearing your used plates away, and refilling your drink selections. I only wish that I was able to try a lot more of their food items, without feeling so stuffed! Guess we will have to return more often! -

I'm surprised with this buffet all the way in Sacramento. There's a decent Asian population out here and the prices weren't too bad. $16.99 for dinner and it had fried crab, snow crab, mussels, clams, and oysters. It was mass produced, but is a lot of seafood for a buffet. There's also a Mongolian grill and other Chinese dishes + sushi (nigiri and rolls).
Service was great and they even have a separate party room, where they were hosting three different parties. They definitely have the space to do so.
Drinks are separate. Taking ice cream out of the area was also $1 extra. -

Attention Yelp, please remove the "vegan options" on this page.
I'm extremely disappointed as my husband and I were invited to visit this buffet for a family dinner last night but thought we would call ahead of time to see if they had any options because on the yelp page it said that they do.
Unfortunately when my husband called, the female who answered the phone was VERY RUDE and asked "what's vegan?" And as he explained what vegan was she interrupted him and proceeded to VERY LOUDLY tell him that we needed to go somewhere else. In this situation, a simple "no" would have sufficed.
My husband and I are not pushy vegans who expect every place to have options for us, which is why we called. There was no reason to be rude when we were asking a question.
Needless to say, we did not join our family for dinner here and we will not be supporting this business in the future. -

After a short look at Yelp, we decided on this place for a birthday meal.
I drove over to find this place in a very busy center just off Florin West exit a bit up on the left. This lot was packed but I spied a compact spot and got it.
We were seated immediately around 2pm. $9.99 lunch is a good deal for a buffet M-Sat. Until 3:30 pm! I think dinner is $15.99. Oysters, crawfish and crab are all dinner items.
There were some good items. Most all was good. Maybe the seaweed salad and one more item seemed a bit stale but the clams, steamed fish, shrimp, octopus, nigiri was good. The seafood soup too. I did not have room for the Mongolian that they stir fry for you. The cappucino cake and the cream puffs plus ice cream in those small containers like the ones we had back in the days was also yum.
The service was bad early with my daughter spying the waitress throw the straws for our waters on our table. She never checked on us early on. Later she filled waters and my daughter then ordered a soda. She refilled that once later on and cleared plates. Of course she came at go time when the tip and end of the meal was in sight. She had her tip seen through the crosshairs. Lol. Also, it must be noted that the carpet is filthy. Also, I saw some young children drop entire plates on the carpet. This place is in the rougher ghetto Florin area and some of the clientele reps that. Not a knock on those peeps, just simple hard facts. Knowledge drop bruh.
All in all, this beats Sakura (crap) and #1 buffet (trash-tip begging waitresses...read the reviews!)
If you are hungry and want to scarf and mack on decent to good food then Yum buffet calls your name. If you want great food and quality cuts etc and need the place to be overly clean, then this won't work for you and you'll need to take your fancy buffet ass out of here and most definitely DO NOT pass go!
All kidding aside, keep your expectations in check and you will like the food for the price. Most eateries are $9.99 and up already these days with the minimum wage hikes etc. So this is an outstanding value with AYCE. -

AYCE buffet. I came here during lunch with a huge party. Was seated immediately in a private room where it was already packed entirely in the restaurant. Pricing here is really cheap. There's a huge selection of foods, from soups, chow menu, potstickers, fried rice, pizza, chicken wings, shrimp, egg rolls, pork buns, sushi, desserts, etc. the layout is very nice and the interior is clean and looks new. Workers here were friendly and nice, giving refills, and taking plates away very quickly compared to no. 1 buffet and their super rude workers. Go here instead! I'll def come back for dinner one of these days!
